Call of Duty - World At War
|
On November 11th 2008 Call of Duty - World At War will be released. The beta test version is available now for online gaming and It Rocks. We tested it on Xbox 360 live. Great detail in the new maps. The multi-player online gaming is more challenging as the maps are packed tighter with places to hide. Everywhere you look someone is trying to snipe you. At present the beta test version has 3 maps the actual game will have 13 maps total.
New changes - The ranking goes up to 65 with 10 prestiges. New weapons go back to the WWII era offering more of a challenge compared to modern weapons. After a five kill streak air strikes have been replaced by a barrage of canon artillery fire. A seven kill streak now releases attack dogs instead of a chopper. The enemies attack dogs are Doberman Pincher's and the friendly attack dogs are German Shepard's. In COD4 you sometimes had little chances against the chopper but in World at War you fight the dogs one on one and stand more of a chance in surviving. TIP: If someone on your team calls in the dogs run with dogs and you can get more kills before the dog gets them.
You can drive tanks and destroy them as well. We found the tanks very easy to operate. Tanks can be destroyed by rocket launchers and anti-tank grenades. A few more changes instead of a stun grenade you have a gas grenade that makes vision blurry a disorients your enemy.
Game play allows you to walk through water offering more ways to attack the enemy. The awaited for flame thrower is unlocked at level 65. Flame thrower is great, although it takes a little bit of time before it shoots flames it does have a nice range.
We give Call or Duty World at War 2 thumbs up.
